JUSTICE OVERVIEW:
Unitarian Universalist Principles affirm the worth and dignity of every person; seek justice, equity, and compassion in human relations; and recognize that we are part of an interdependent web of all existence. Our work for justice is grounded in UU’s Seven Principles.
The Social Justice Committee (SJC), in conjunction with Reverend Church, leads much of the justice work of the congregation. Our efforts are intentionally aligned with the seven UUJusticePA Teams
Several times per year we invite speakers from local non-profit organizations to share their social justice work, at a Sunday services. We join in community activities, such as the annual Labor Day and Pride parades and the Martin Luther King, Jr. march. We also host special events which are open to the public.
The UU Erie congregation is committed to social justice. Click on the Service Projects link for more stories and photos.
