PLEDGES, FUNDRAISING, AND DONATIONS POLICY

Pledges: All pledges made to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie by individuals will go into the General Fund. No pledges will be accepted on a conditional use of the money.

Fundraising: All money raised within the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie will go into the General Fund unless the Board of Trustees approves the use for a specific purpose.

Donations: Donations go into the General Fund unless specified for one of the Giving Funds which are earmarked for specific purposes, see below.  No earmarked donation to the General Fund will be accepted based on a conditional use of the money. Donations to a Giving Fund will be accepted for the purpose of that fund with no further conditions for its use.

Giving Funds: UUErie uses an accounting system which allows for specially donated funds to be saved for use for specific purposes in a Giving Fund.  These Funds are accounted for separately and do not zero out at the end of a fiscal year like a budget for a committee. Each Fund is approved by the Board of Trustees.  Deposits to a specific fund allows a donor to know that a donation will be used for the purpose designated for that fund.  Funds may be added or deleted by the Board of Trustees. Current list of Giving Funds is available upon request.
