LIBRARY POLICY

The goal and purpose of the UUErie library is to be a resource for information to further our Mission and Vision and provide for the study of spiritual growth of members and friends of UUErie.

It is accessible to all members and friends. Materials can be signed out using the procedure described in the library.

UUErie library includes publications that meet the following criteria:

  • Subject material justified under at least one of our sources.
  • A UU author
  • Generally supporting one or more UU principles
  • Texts considered to be “classic”

Note: Books more than 25 years old or not generally current in its subject field will likely not be retained

Children and teen appealing books and RE resource books are stored in the Religious Education (RE) room.

Books are arranged by subject category then by author.

Books may be donated by placing them on the designated shelf. All donated material is considered to be the property of UUErie.

Not all donated books will be included in the library collection.  Those items not shelved in the library will be available for adoption at no cost for a period of time.
